Apply Facilitative Leadership
During this training, we will simulate real workshop situations and figure out what it really means to apply Facilitative Leadership.
This course has been specially designed to develop your facilitative leadership skills. It will:
deepen your understanding of facilitation as a form of leadership
provide you with hands-on techniques to get the best out of a team in co-creation
empower you with easy-to-understand ways to manage your optimal state.
You will take steps outside your comfort zone to reach that perfect state of focus that allows for self-awareness and learning new ways to lead a team in co-creation. You will also learn how to manage your state for optimal facilitation.
After completing this course, you will have a profound and practical understanding of the three competence areas that turn facilitation into leadership: Guiding, Conducting and Catalyzing, the ‘Facilitator’s trinity’. It will also boost your confidence, strength and focus.
What to expect
Building your facilitative confidence to lead workshops
Only 6 captains, a small group to ensure the perfect safe space for experimentation.
During our live sessions, you will learn about dealing with the difficulties of working with different
personalities and you will better understand your own personal pitfalls and strengths.
The one-to-one coaching time happens before the actual sessions and provides you with tips and tricks to
stretch your facilitation beyond your usual approach.
A month after the training we will reconvene to share how everyone has put their learnings into practice.
You will meet and learn from a group of peers, of like-minded explorers.
Every participant receives the book ‘Captains of Leadership’, explaining in detail all the aspects you learned about in this course.

Location
We will spend two days together in one of the beautiful properties of the Oostwegel Collection (https://www.oostwegelcollection.nl/). If you like to spend the night as well, we will foresee a special rate for all course participants.
Timing
The two days will take place in the last week of August. Exact days still to be decided. The course starts at 9.30 and will end approx. at 17.30 each day.
Preparation
When you confirm your participation, you will receive an invite for a kick-off call, in which everything will be explained together with the pre-work.
After the kick-off, we will plan a coaching call to help you with the pre-work.
During the two days of training, you will only need your notebook to capture your learnings.

Facilitation is the purest form of leadership, A facilitator is ‘giving’ by holding space for others to become a coherent group of people. It is a brave thing to try and be a selfless leader who just wants to help people to get the best out of a shared moment. Just for trying, you deserve that respectful title of captain.
